My first ride of the year.

This past weekend the Appolson’s Performance Team took off to hit the trails with the Hamburg Snowmobile Club for their first annual Family Poker Run. We could not have been any luckier as two days prior to event day we actually got snow!?!?

The club opened the trails, and although conditions were anything but perfect, we were riding and that’s all that mattered. However brief the winter wonderland was, it was exciting and people from all over western New York came out for kids’ rides, adult demo rides, and food and festivities.

The high point of the day was getting a chance to hit the trails with two of Polaris’ newest snowmobiles, the Switchback and Rush Pro R 800. It had been a lonnnng time since I had taken a trail ride, just for reference the last time I rode, the 600cc engine was as big as it got, so I had no idea what I was in for.

The ride was amazing, even with half covered trails, the dips and puddles were almost nonexistent with the 12 inches of suspension travel that comes on these sleds, I compare it to riding a transformer, you know the robots from outer space. The difference from what I remember riding years ago was unreal. Extreme comfort, handling like I’ve never experience, power that almost threw me off the back more than once, it was an experience to say the least.

Take a look at our pictures and videos of the day at our facebook or youtube channel. And stop by and check out the space age technology in our Polaris sleds.
